February 22-24, 2012. Portland, Oregon and Online
About the Conference
Amid rapid change in higher education and information technology, the importance of IT engagement continues to grow. How do we effectively engage in teaching and learning on our campuses and beyond campus as technology shrinks time and distance? In the spirit of this year’s conference theme, “Engaging Everyone Effectively,” we will look at ways to collaborate, lead, and assess IT’s role within higher ed as it continues to evolve. Join your colleagues and leaders in the higher ed IT community as we explore the many facets of IT engagement.
We will be speaking with Sarah Krznarich, Assistant Director of Student Engagement at Arizona State University (ASU).
About our session
How do you foster community and collaboration among faculty members? How do you track new technologies and emerging trends and share the knowledge across multiple campuses? Learn how an online community platform has provided a solution for student and faculty collaboration through an academic engagement network, allowing for improved connections and learning. Examples of the power of an asynchronous network will be shared, and include faculty-focused communities of practice, special interest groups and other collaborative spaces. This session will clearly illustrate how to enhance collaboration & curriculum sharing—addressing a diverse and disparate faculty—and simplify access to information & resources across virtual campuses.
As a result of this session, attendees will:
